The President
Mark Stevenson |

Mark Stevenson is the founder and current president of the IBDA. He has been active in the banknote industry since 1993 having worked with many industry leaders in banknote design, production and printing. Despite having a Law degree and a Diploma in European Community Law & Economics, Mark entered the banknote industry at an early age and has been active in banknote printing, automation and technology projects across the globe. Having identified the need for banknote designers to have access to more information and support, Mark joined forces with a small team of banknote designers to create the 1st International Banknote Designers Conference. This was a launch platform from which he created the International Banknote Designers Association and today the association counts members from across the world and is supported by leaders in the banknote industry.

Vanessa Lavie was born in 1971 in Switzerland from a Swedish mother and brought up in Lausanne. In 1994, she graduated from the Hotel School in Lausanne (EHL) and moved to Latin America for 4 years. There she was involved in the antique business and touristic development projects in Venezuela and Costa Rica. Back in Europe, she worked several years at the Clinique la Prairie as Coordinator of the Medical Aesthetic Center.
She then joined the Banknote Industry at KBA-NotaSys (formerly KBA-GIORI) where she supported the Banknote Services team in the development of the methodology for consultancy services to Central Banks as Projects Coordinator. In September 2010, she organised together with Mark Stevenson, the first International Banknote Designers Conference (IBDC) and is now Communications Manager for the International Banknote Designers Association (IBDA).
